 John
Baldwin was born
and raised in England where he trained as a cabinetmaker and a
decorator. After moving to Canada he started restoring homes in the Toronto neighbourhoods of Forest Hills and Rosedale. |

| While recovering from a
car accident he found himself devoting more time to his lifelong
passion for models,
steam engines and mechanical devices. A line of work that he has been
following to this day. He relaxes by working on restoring his XIX century home and dreaming that, one day, he would have the time, and the money, to build a Victorian era steam powered launchboat. |

| As a lad, he used to think that he wanted to be rich AND famous, but, for now, rich will do. |  |
